Virat Kohli was born on 5 November 1988. he is the caption of Indian cricket team in all three cricket formats ( Test, One Day and T20).

He was born and raised in Delhi his father Mr. Prem Kohli was a criminal lawyer and his mother Mrs. Saroj Kohli is a housewife, he has one brother and a sister named Vikash kohli and bhavna kohli he was the youngest child in his family.

At the age of 3, he was attracted towards cricket, according to his family he used to pick up a bat and asks his father to bowl at him. Kohli’s father recognized his talent and enrolled him in a cricket academy in the West Delhi when he was just nine years old.

Remembering the old days his academy coach Rajkumar Sharma said to the media “He oozed talent. It was very difficult to keep him quiet, he was natural in whatever he did and I was most impressed by his attitude, he was ready to bat at any spot, and I had to literally push him to go back home after the training sessions end. He just wouldn’t be wanted to leave.”

Apart from the good in sports, he was good in academics as well, he started his cricket carrier by playing for Delhi Under-15 team in Polly Umrigar Trophy between October 2002–03 he was the leading run scorer in that tournament and by his excellent performance, he earned his place in the Delhi team.

Later In July 2006, he was selected as part of the India Under-19 cricket team for its tour of England, where he impressed the under19 team management by his skills, coach Lalchand Rajput said, “Kohli showed strong technical skills against both pace and spin”

At the age of 18 in November 2006 Virat made his first-class debut for Delhi against Tamil Nadu.he made people think when he decided to play for his team against Karnataka on the day after his father’s death and went on to the field and scored 90 gave him appreciation and respect from everyone.

In 2008 ICC U-19 World Cup, he led the Indian cricket team and made his team won the world cup.

In June 2008 following the Under-19 cricket, World Cup Virat was bought in the IPL by the royal challengers Bangalore for  $30,000 USD, then  In July 2008, He was picked for the India Emerging Players squad for the four-team Emerging Players Tournament in Australia.

He scored 206 runs in six matches at an average of 41.20 and gained attention from the Indian cricket team selectors.

In August 2008 he got selected for the Indian cricket team for the tour of Sri Lanka and champions trophy.

During the tour of Sri Lanka, two major players of the Indian cricket team Sachin Tendulkar and Virendra Sehwag got injured, at the age of 19, he got the chance to make his international debut in the ODI format, he batted throughout the series as an optional opener for the Indian team.

In his initial phase, Kohli has seen many ups and downs in the carrier, and right now he is considered as the best ODI and TEST batsman in the world.

In 2014 when Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement from the test cricket he was named as the caption of the TEST cricket team.

And in 2017 he was made the caption of Indian cricket team for ODI and t20 team as well.
