Mukesh Ambani was born in the colony on Aden (now in Yemen), currently lives in Mumbai (a city in India).

He is a business tycoon in India, also the  Chairperson of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). he has ranked among richest people in the world and he is the richest person in India.

His father Mr. Dhirubhai Ambani was a well-known businessman in India.

His father used to work in a firm in Yemen before moving back to Mumbai in the year 1958, at the early state his father started his business in selling spices and by the time he was a business tycoon in India

Mukesh Ambani has one brother and two sisters Dipti Salgaoncar and Nina Kothari, his brother Mr. Anil Ambani is also a businessman in India.

He completed his early education from the Hill Grange High School, Mumbai, along with his brother Anil, and has completed his graduation degree in mechanical engineering and MBA from Stanford University but he left his master’s degree in the middle in order to assist his father in establishing Reliance.

In 1980, the government of India opened polyester filament yarn to the private sector, about 50 companies applied for the license including Tata’s and Birla’s but the Ambanis got the license and Mukesh Ambani helped his father in establishing the business.

At the beginning of 1981, he was the leader in the backward integration of reliance from textiles into polyester fibers and in the petrochemicals sector.

He also played a crucial role in establishing “Reliance Infocomm Limited” now known as “reliance communications limited” which was aimed to be focused on information and communications technology initiatives, the company is now owned by his younger brother Anil Ambani after the business is being divided between the two brothers.

World’s largest grassroots petroleum refinery at Jamnagar, India integrated with petrochemicals, power generation, port and related infrastructure is the creation of Mr. Mukesh Ambani. the company has the capacity to produce 660,000 barrels petroleum per day according to the reports in 2010.

In the year 2008, his company reliance industries bought a cricket team Mumbai Indians worth  111.9 million us dollars in the Indian premier league.

His company reliance currently operates in five major division refining and marketing,  production and exploration, refining and marketing, petrochemicals, retail, and telecommunications.

His company reliance is the second most valuable company in India by the market value and has been ranked among the Fortune Global 500 companies.

He is currently the board member of the several groups such as Reliance Exploration and Production, Council on Foreign Relation, and the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University.

And he is the chairperson of Reliance Petroleum Limited and Reliance Retail Ltd and also the Director of Reliance Europe Limited.
